Investigation

Research is an important part of musicube academy. Students learn, with guidance, how academic research works in practice, from defining a question and choosing methods to working with sources and building a clear argument. These skills are especially relevant in the Bachelor and Master programmes, particularly in the final projects and theses.

A research-based foundation supports reflective work. This is what we expect from our students, and what we actively support throughout their studies: the ability to connect artistic decisions with well-founded thinking.

At the same time, the Bachelor and Master programmes at musicube academy are artistic degrees. This allows students to connect research outcomes with artistic topics and projects. A Master’s thesis, for example, may take the form of an artistic work such as a composition, combined with a reflective written part that links the work to its aim, context and approach.

Academic work is meant to be a benefit, not a burden. That is why connections to other areas are encouraged, and depth, transfer and meaningful insight are treated as the real advantage.
